A: Yes you can. We have ActivePerl installed. Place your Perl scripts in the cgi-bin directory.

A: For Windows 2000 it is #!c:\perl\bin\perl.exe.

Q: Can I register an ActiveX component/.dll file on your W2K server?
A: No you may not. No customer can request to install anything that will change the registry. This is to prevent any coding errors from affecting other clients on the server. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Q: I would like to create a DSN connection from my scripts to my database, what should I do?
A: We need all the following information:

DSN Name
Database Path e.g. c:\inetpub\abc.com.my\data\abc.mdb Note: we suggest that you put your database file into data directory instead of wwwroot (which is your web root directory)
Database Name e.g. abc.mdb If you are using a SQL Database we need:

SQL Username

SQL Password

SQL Database Name
Permission e.g. read/write/modify/all

Upload your database file into the database path you specified in the 2nd step. Then, E-mail this information to support@hostpro2u.com and we will create the DSN for you.

Q: You have created the DSN but I get errors when trying to make changes to my .mdb file.
A: This is an access rights problem, you need to specify to us the access rights (read/write/modify/all) you need for your .mdb file.

Q: I am using an Access/MSSQL databse in my ASP pages, what is the syntax for the connection string?
A: MSSQL CONN_STRING = "Provider=sqloledb; Data Source=mssql.domainname; Initial Catalog=databasename; User ID=username; Password=password"

Access CONN_STRING = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.Mappath("") & ";"

Q: I cannot ftp to the server, I keep getting the following error message: "Unable to open data socket".
A: In your ftp client please make sure PASV mode is not checked. If you are using CuteFTP, it's in: Edit -> Settings - > Firewall
