ANNOUNCEMENT |
Dear valued customer,
We wish to highlight to you on the recent changes implemented by the sms upstream
provider (Macrokiosk) and Malaysian Telcos (Maxis, Celcom and Digi) with immediate effect.
1) Changes 1: The Sender ID for all outgoing sms terminating to Malaysian network has been defaulted to
5-digit shortcode numbers with immediate effect. All International numbers will still carry the pre-defined
Sender ID.
Impact: Malaysian telco (Maxis, Digi and Celcom) mobile users should receive the
SMS as 600000 on Maxis, as 32300 on Celcom and as 66688 on Digi. International numbers
shall receive the SMS with SenderID as usual.
(Note: Our sms upstream provider is in the process of applying for a 6-series (i.e. 6xxxx)
shortcode for Maxis numbers. We will notify you accordingly once the shortcode is approved,
targeted in a months time.)
Action needed:
- Customer is advised to complete (key-in) their original Sender ID when sending sms.
Please do not use 000 as sender ID with immediately effect.
The re-routing process (changing to 5-digit shortcode numbers above) is handled automatically
by Macrokiosk Gateway (backend).
- We advice customer to include your sender ID or your identity in the message body.
2) Changes 2: Telco adding price tag of RM0.00 in message body.
Impact: Telco will add the price tag of RM0.00 at the start of each sms. Your sms message will
be displayed after RM0.00, to indicate that there is no charge to the message received.
Action needed: We advice customer to shorten your message to allow the 7 character spaces for RM0.00:
- For roman characters, to limit to 153 characters per sms.
- For Unicode, to limit to 63 characters per sms.
(Note: We regret that we will not be able to change the web-notice of 153 roman characters or 63
unicode characters per SMS in http://sms.hostpro2u.com, as it is a common system being used by all
global users whom are not affected by this change.)
The above changes are necessary to provide consistently good quality SMS delivery to your
customer/mobile users without interruption by local Telcos.
We shall keep you updated if there is any further update from our sms upstream provider.
We do not advice any broadcasting of sms at this moment. Therefore,
we have temporarily put up an under construction page on http://sms.hostpro2u.com,
We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please do not hesitate to us should you require further
clarification.
Thank you.
Warmest regards,
Hostpro2u Customer Service
